Little Bits of Life

Last Friday, I met with one of Hannah's oncologist's, Dr. Blythe Thomson M.D., to discuss Hannah's new treatment plan. It was a chance to run by the team what I had been researching. I found a couple of things that would help lessen the side effects of the High Dose Methotrexate, HD Mtx. We got the go ahead to try both the Glutamine and the Nuerontin. Hopefully, it will help Hannah avoid some of the harder to deal with side effects. I am crossing my finger and toes through the next phase!

Hannah is still in DI 2. She is only a few weeks in, so her counts are on the way down, but not completely crashed. She has some energy and is in a good mood almost all the time. I don't know where she gets it, I am burnt out!

Our family has been doing a lot of low key things, trying to fit life in around low counts.

Learning how to play "Angry Birds".

Getting all tatted up.

Hanging at Rian's, where, apparently, no one wants their picture taken!

Watching Aaron, in his role as a singing football player, in his school play.

  1. It is actually unreasonable for someone going through this to think that I was kind and helpful during H's hissy! Good gracious. You put it in perspective, alright. I send lots of good wishes and thank you for being a frequent visitor! x

  2. I hate angry birds - they laugh at you when you miss them. Grrrr! Hannah - show them who's boss!

  3. Just found your blog through your comment on mine. Sorry to hear that you are dealing with cancer in your precious little girl. My children have both had serious health problems, so I know doctors and that sort of thing, but your burden is much heavier. My thoughts are with you and your lovely family.

  5. Oh man, I hope her good mood keeps up! Actually, Angry Birds is really satisfying when you're not in a good mood too, haha. Thanks for the sweet comment, by the way; that means a lot. I hope she liked my pink sunglasses as much as I do!

  6. You and Hannah are an inspiration to us all.

I have managed to avoid Angry Birds so far - although my 3 yr old is a bit of an expert according to my husband. Look forward to following Hannah's progress. x

  8. Kerry; Hannah has quickly become somewhat of an expert at Angry Birds! She is really good!

Empress; I read The Banana your comment. She says you should get it, with a big smile. I asked her if she had tips for you guys. "They should hit start over and over again. Then, they will be good."

Hot Cross Mum; Isn't crazy how good they can be at there age? I don't last five seconds. I can never get the bird to the pigs.

I'm so Fancy; Thank you! I love the nanny posts, they just crack me up.

Kate; Alright! No more nice comments for you. ;-)

Mugdha; She did love the pink sunglasses. Remember the prom dress post? LOVED that. She made me promise her the sparkly blue one when she is a big girl.

Brenna; I'm sorry to hear about your children's health issues. It is so hard to watch your babies struggle.

  9. Just found your blog via Kerry on Living - I am so sorry to learn of your troubles. But I must say: what a wonderful, devoted mum your lovely Hannah has! I'll have my fingers crossed for your family, and be keeping you in my thoughts.
